A forum is like a group or a panel, that will meet across the year to share their views and help to shape Brook’s services.
If you have an interest in helping people, and taking part in exciting opportunities across our relationships and sexual health based organisation, we would love you to apply.
What might I do by joining the Brook Youth Forum?
This might be through online and face-to-face opportunities.
- Attend meetings with other young people 4 times a year (mostly digital)
- Collaborate on campaigns to raise awareness about issues that young people think are important in their local areas
- Organise, attend and represent Brook at local events
- Create, complete and promote surveys to help us improve what we do
- Be involved in group discussions to help make our services better
- Help us to shape our promotional resources aimed at young people
- Provide us with your thoughts about how new services should look, including mystery shopping at some of our clinics
- Share/create digital content through social media channels
Why is it important that people have their say about services like Brook?
- “It helps the services to adapt around the needs of young people” (Brook workshop participant, 16 years)
- “We deserve to have a say because we deserve to help people with the same care and energy with which we’ve been helped, and because we want to contribute that help to each other and our communities.” (Young person, 18)
- “Young people know young people best” (Young person 20)
- Building skills
- Have fun and meet new people
- Opportunities to influence and have your voice heard
- The chance to attend fun events and network
- Rewards such as certificates, work experience, and sometimes vouchers
- A record of progress and updates about the difference your input has made to Brook; this might help with awards or programmes you have been completing at school/college or for work
- Good experience for your CV
- Invited to training opportunities
If you’re interested in applying you just need to click here to register your interest. If you have any problems with completing the form please contact the participation team at participation@brook.org.uk.
